About Us

Rooted in the Bible and looking to Christ, we at Our Savior's Lutheran Church seek to follow God’s call in this world in conversation with the ancient liturgy and historical confessions of the Church. Gathered as the Body of Christ, we worship God, serve our neighbors, enjoy community fellowship, and deepen faith through education. We understand that doubt and wrestling are part of the journey of faith, and seek to make safe space where life and faith can be honestly engaged.

We are connected with the wider Church as a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA).

Meet Pastor Carol

Pastor Carol Seilhymer is the new pastor for Our Savior’s Lutheran
Church in Thompson Falls, MT and First Lutheran Church in
Plains, MT. This is her first call since graduating in May 2016
from Luther Seminary with a Masters of Divinity with a
concentration in Children, Youth and Family (CYF)! She and
her husband Steve are excited for the new call in Carol’s life
and their journey to Montana together.

Carol is a “second career” person with previous callings in
customer service, hotel management, and commercial lines
insurance. A common thread among all her careers is her connection
with people, and even now when Carol is not studying or working, you will usually find her around people. She loves to talk and listen to the stories of how Christ meets us in our lives, encouraging all of us to make a difference. Not one to be idle, Carol can also be found hanging out with friends—shopping, singing, dancing, knitting prayer shawls, or meeting new people.

Carol grew up in the suburbs of Milwaukee, WI, one of five children. She has been married to Steve for over 30 years, and they most recently resided in Woodbury, MN, with their cat, Aleksei. The states of Connecticut and Washington were home for them before settling in Minnesota. Steve has taken an early retirement from Xcel Energy in Red Wing, MN, and is a committed partner and supporter of Carol’s calling into ministry.
