Christian Education
We believe the Christian life is one of continuing conversation, learning, growth, and engagement with God and one another. Education is offered to encourage, nurture, and equip you to further that conversation. We understand that doubt and wrestling are part of the journey of faith, and seek to make safe space where life and faith can be honestly engaged.
Opportunities For
Fellowship and Learning
Thirsty Theology
From September through May, the first Monday night of each month finds a group gathered for conversation which center on how God invites us to “Come, all who are thirsty, come to the waters” (Is.55:1). This is a moving portrayal of how the Lord offers satisfying refreshment for our thirsty souls. It is our opportunity to come together to explore, and express our doubts and concerns, and learn from each other. We meet at First Lutheran in Plains.
Children's Bible School
Every other Sunday we hold Bible Study with the children. Children are dismissed after the children's sermon (about 9:15 or 11:15 a.m.) and return to the congregation for communion and dismissal.
Bring Your Own (BYOB)
Being in the Word and engaging in meaningful discussion is a way of strengthening our faith at BYOB. Pr. Carol leads the study the first Thursday of the month at 10 a.m. The study is “Making Sense of the Cross." Please contact the church office if you would like to order the book.
Prayer Shawl Ministry
A new prayer shawl ministry has been formed. We meet monthly as a group to knit and crochet as Prayer Shawls are created. Join us on the Third Thursday of the month at 10 am.
